    87 Honda trx wiring help

first id like to say hello ( first post here) and im VERY green when it comes to working on small engine vehicles. my dad recently picked up a 87 honda trx 125 really cheap ( its in real rough shape) and dropped it off for my son. well it wouldnt do jack. i noticed it has a harness that has 4 wires (front right side)that are cut and the insulation is stripped off ( as if they were twisted together at one time. well i figured out which wires to connect to allow the start button to work and the motor turns over but i still have 2 wires that arent hooked to anything. the particular harness has a red, green, black, and black with white stripe wire in it. any idea what the magic order is to connect these wires? im hoping if i figure that out, then ill finally get spark to the spark plug.

also not sure if it matters but this bike has no plastics or ignition switch. did it even have an ignition switch to begin with? i really dont want to put much money into this thing until i can at least hear it fire up and see how healthy the motor is but i cant find a schematic anywhere

    thank you very much monroemike

judging from the manual on the 87 if i was reading right according to this part of the diagram. if everything else is in working order i should be able to twist the red wire with the black wire, and then the black with white stripe wire and the dark green wire together and it should be able to fire up right? (there is no actual ignition switch right now and i dont want to buy one until i can fire it up and make sure its worth the money) reason why i ask is i am real rusty when it comes to reading schematics
