I got me a 1977 ATC 90! *Now with pics*

Saw this on craigslist, called about it, and bought it an hour later... sitting in my garage awaiting 2 or 3 things to make it right. Starts and runs great, but needs an airbox hose, some wiring figured out(it will only run when the light is on hi beam), and the seat covered... $200, and around here, that's practically free You guys are seeing it before my wife even sees it (I don't think she wants to see it).

I just got rid of my air box hose I had last night to someone local. I have the air box still but no hose.

If the electrical is like mine (from a 78), the "headlight" switch as 3 positions: 1 = all off, 2 = ignition on, 3 = ignition + lights on. No hi-lo option even though the socket and bulb are capable.

Sounds like somebody tried to make the hi-lo work.

hmm... you have to have the switch o the headlight all the way to the right, and the handlebar ignition on for it to run... haven't tried it yet, but the previous owner said it will run in the middle position, but won't run well... will investigate in the AM

The switch on the thumb throttle is for the ignition. The switch on the headlight is for the headlight. If you have to turn the headlight on to run, then your wires are hooked up wrong, that's all. And for jb2wheels, your wiring is all hosed up man.

MonroeMike is right, but some people post like they have no ignition switch (emergency switch). And I keep referring to later model wiring.

Yes, around 8 last night, why?

Also, did the 90's have a front brake? I'm thinking mine has a 110 front end because I have a front brake and the clamp spacing is different than the stock 90 triple I had lying around. I wanted to put the original handlebars on it, so I tried to do a swap, spacing between clamps is different, then I tried to replace the top of the triple, and the holes don't line up...

It has a 22" front tire... fits right with the fender... doesn't the 200 have a 25" tire?
