250SX engine is the same as the 250ES. I'm sure MonroeMike will hook you up with a manual when he sees this

ok thanks for your help. i looked at the manual and it looks like something than i can use. this manuel is it good for a first timer on a top end rebuild? just wondering what you think.

i have done allot of work on my own stuff around the house like putting a clutch in my yota and putting a timing chain on it as well, However this will be my first rebuild on my three wheeler.

if anyone has a link of a first hand write up on a top end rebuild allot of times you can get better hands on write up than with a manual.

how about parts what place is good to buy from. i know that this is a big question and i am sure everyone has an answer but as far as ording from the net i do this allot so you can load my up with web pages. i will look at them all.

Print out the whole manual. I find it a lot easy to read on paper, where I can take it into the garage and you can see it next to the engine. I haven't seen a complete write up on it. As for parts...Honda, bikebandit, E-bay. The Honda place by me has a real low mark up so for a lot of things its just as cheap as bike bandit and it comes in quicker. Some dealers you have to ask specifically if they can get parts aftermarket like a cam chain, it will be a lot cheaper than the genuine Honda cam chain. Usually they will give you the price on Honda parts first but most of them have an aftermarket supplier as well.

manuals are a little confusing to newbies like myself some stuff in the manual assumes that you are a regular certified machanic i dont mean to offend but a dumbed down write up could be helpful and the manuals seem to leave out the grey areas. just my thoughts

almost been a year now since i posted so now i am going ahead and starting my project.
i am very slow when doing something for the first time so i have a couple of questions.

i have taken the carb, tail pipe, and what i would call a valve cover. now i am down to pulling the cylinder.
i was wondering if i have to remove the springs before i remove the cylinder? i am not sure what they are called.
i am not planning on replacing the valves. i just want to replace the rings and maybe the chain.

the manual is a little vague with instructions. thanks in advance for the help.
