    200x to Auto X conversion

I know this has been posted before but I nave NO luck with the search feature...
What is the best years and model 200 motor to use in the 200x
I dont really want to fab or mod anything. Also, would I need to use the front sprocket from the 200x or are they the same.
And what about the 185 vs 200? Is there an noticable difference in power, speed, torque??
Thanks in advance for the info and if anyone between Lansing and Detroit Metro Airport has a motor let me know, I make the drive everyday.

I haven't noticed any difference in the 185 vs 200 stock engines. Supposedly, they are actually only 12cc difference.

Any chain driven ATC 200 engine will work, you may have trouble with the models with electric start fitting as the starter motor *may* rub the frame (easy to fix, just a heads up)

You will need to use another brake lever, as the X one is on the engine (I think?) or at least it doesn't stick out as far with the 'non-x' engines in there.

    185
    200
    200s
    185s
    200m (e start)
Maybe the 200e if it was chain driven

Sprockets should interchange, use the X one if your chain doesn't fit with the other 200 engine's sprocket (real easy to change)

you'll need the 200X intake, the hardtail intake puts the carb right under the spine of the trike. jim

buy a 200s for cheap and part out what you don't need and ride it to make sure the clutch is good ...... I like the 185/200s brake pedal with a extra bend in it ... just my .02

mike pm me if you have any questions but that write up monroemike posted is pretty straight fwd.

i think the hardest part of it was making the rear brake arm work. if need be i could maybe fab one up for you.

Looks like MM linked it. Sorry actually took me a while to find it too. I forgot where it was. You gotta go to the "Old 3WW" link then the "scans" section.

Good luck and post pics of your progress.

I have a 200s motor that needs a fresh bore and piston in Michigan. A little south of Detroit though...

If you had a good 200x motor already, the top end would fit on the 200s bottom end

    And a red 2000 silverado
