    watercooled honda atc250r stator?

i was wondering if the honda atc250r was decently easy to work on. i got this trike( i am used to 350x) on a trade and it needs a stator. are these easy to replace. i am mechanically inclined but know nothing of these trikes. any education would be awesome. thanx a bunch,

well, you can get a brand new standard output stator from Ricky Stator for $125. or jump up to a 200w for $150 but you will need to upgrade to the Ricky Stator heavy duty voltage regulator. i just installed a new stator and regulator from these guys. smooth easy transaction, no problems whatsoever with the parts...check em out.. http://www.rickystator.com/catalog/p...products_id=93

also, all you need to do to replace the stator on your R is remove the shifter (makes the job easier). remove the stator cover, flywheel (you WILL need a honda flywheel puller) and then the stator is right there readily servicable. You may also want to remove the fuel tank to make the stator harness plugs more easily accessable. i swapped my stator and regulator in less than 1 hour. piece of cake...plug n play

ive got a stator from a air cooled 84 250r it tested out good. 245 ohms

not sure if a 84 will work in a water cooled but if it does ill give you a good deal on it

I just replaced mine today, you need a flywheel puller usually available from your local dealer, and a 17mm socket. An impact wrench helps to remove the nut that holds the flywheel on, otherwise you have to somehow jam up the flywheel to remove the nut. then it's 3 bolts and the stator comes out, easy peazy lemon squeezie.
