    run/off switch not working

So here is my problem the guy that had my 84 200ES like to mess with it and he added a big battery and extra headlight wired them all in. He also took the key switch off so all he had to do is move the switch to "run" and he could start it. So yesterday i took big battery and extra headlight off and "fixed" the wireing but today i replaced the battery under the seat and now my starting button works, but the "run/off" switch does not work and i had to put my gas to off to stop the motor.

Sorry if i was not very clear in the details but i tried
here is a picture of my extra headlight and big battery that took off

sounds like you on/off switch is now wired correctly or not grounding the ignition circuit.

If it's wired correctly, take some sandpaper to the contacts to make sure they are clean.

Dont the wires from the engine stop switch go into the back of the headlight? Did you unplug the switch when you where removing the extra headlight?

I've had good luck getting old kill switches to work again by sanding the contacts until they are shiny again like dcreel suggested.

I just fixed the 200X on/off switch today by sanding the contacts.
