    new guy here

hi everyone i bought a 1986 atc 200x three weeks ago for $600. i'm doing a complete tear down and cleaning every nut and bolt. i need some advise on getting a new axle, wheel hubs and air box. it has 1985 air box rigged up and my axle is tweaked and it has welded on steal hubs. the bike other than those things is in tip top shape it still has the tool box and all the tools. i grew up on atc's i even have a picture of my 2 year old self and my dad on a 1985 big red.

welcome to 3ww, nice ride, looks real good. as for a rear axle replacement, good luck. i searched high and low for about a 2 weeks and came up with nothing concrete. the best option was to swap in an 85 200x rear axle. with a couple tricks you can get it to work.

my 87 axle was so bad i had to take the sawzall to it, NFG.

im working on that. apparently its a straight forward swap, and you use all 85 axle components. install seals from an 84 250r i think, they just have to be 42mm ID for the seal.

should be.... shouldnt be.... too bad.
