    200x starting issues

    i have 83 200x starts up fine but then after i ride for a while and stall pr shut if off. i have to wait til it cools down before i can restart. it can be annoying. does anyone have any answers to my problem? thank you.

    Sounds like you're overheating it, causing it to go into vapor lock, shutting down to prevent permanent damage.

    My XR200R's stroker engine does it all the time when it's warm out.

    My suggestion is to check the timing to make sure it's correct, check your idle needle adjustments (it could be running LEAN), check to make sure the heatsinks don't have 20lbs of mud stuffed in them, and then make sure you're using the correct oil. I always use 10w-30 in mine.

    sounds like its lean alittle.does it backfire alot when letting off the throttle?

    Have you checked to see if the gas tank is venting properly?

    Out of spec valves can cause this too, correct?

    Anything can cause this.

    The engine requires three things to run- fuel, compression, and ignition. You're going to have to do some investigating when it dies and find out which one of these three you're missing.
