School me on the 200e VS the 200es

Biggest difference between the two? E is chain drive, ES is shaft. ES has reverse along with hi/lo. Anything else?

E and ES both have electric start and they both came stock with 25" tires. 200E does not have reverse and the ES does. Both have hi and lo range. Both have the same fenders, tank, seat, front forks, they look nearly identical fro mth efront - at the back is the big difference - shaft drive VS chain.

Hey ATCTim, nice museum. I was looking at your 1980 ATC 185 and was very impressed to see the info you had about it. It is the orignial 185, one year production, and its orange instead of red. I also have one in very nice shape. Not quite as nice as yours but close. My seat isn't in as nice of shape. But I have the front rack and basket for this one year producion model if you are interested. It's the orignal "Hondaline" rack and basket. They're pretty beat up but I thought I would offer. PM me if you would like to know more.

one uses a shaft to drive the other uses a chain. chain version is way easier and better in my opinion as less moving parts and easier to find stuff to keep the bacl end going.(200s stuff work good)
