i currently own an 85 250 big red as well. start and have the trike in first gear idling. there is a black clutch adjustment cover on the side of the engine. ) think the left.) pull the rubber cover of and have ( in hand ) a flat screw driver and a 10 mm (i think) closed in wrench. hold the screw in position while braking the nut loose. turn the screw about 1/4 of a turn clock wise. tighten the nut back as you hold the the screw firmly in place with the screw driver. do a test run. make sure you get the clutches warm through each run. if still slipping, repeat these steps 1/4 turn at a time. eventually if you adjust it to far shifting up and down will be difficult due to clearance issues. hope this helps

Its on the right side of the engine, and that nut is 14mm.

If its slipping, your probably going to be due for new clutch and springs...
No trikes. Too old, too crippled. Unless I find one I can't live without!
