thanks for the help but this manual only tells me how to do this if the engine is already together.in my case the head was off and i am not sure if it is at tdc on the compression stroke.so i,m not sure how to alighn the crank to tell me if the crank is in the right position.so if i put it back together it will most like ly be out 180 degreese.or does it matter as long as the t mark is right and the piston is at tdc?

if the rotor is on, it should be at t, if its off, use the woodruf key slot on the crank, it should be pointed in the same direction as the cyl. the cam sproket has a dimple, and the cyl head has a grove. you cant install the sproket on the cam wrong if you tried. once the chain is on, adjust the chain tensioner and rotate the crank a few times and see the marks still are good. You really cant screw it up. Cant help you with the ignition timing, never done one with one of those new fangled, fancy smancy CDI systems, just know points!
