There was no rear suspension 200 from the factory, unless someone installed the bolt on kit they made back in the day.

that what i thought, but we used to have 2 yamaha 3 wheelers...one had rear suspension one didnt, we sold the one with rear suspension but they were both chain drive. We actually switched motors before we sold it because the one we sold had a high comp engine that was a beast, are the ones with the bolt on kits worth anything or are they rare...because we sold it to our neighbor and he rides it like once a year if that. Would it be worth getting back?

Yeah, I think the kits are fairly rare. The only one I know of was made by a company called pro-tec, and it came with an alumimum "swingarm" upper shock mount, shock, and all other hardware to piece it together. There are a few guys on here with them, more with the yt 125 and 175, but I know of at least one with a 200 with that setup.

so are they a 200 with rear suspension or are they a 225 with a 200 motor?

I don't know if Pro-Tec made a kit for the 200 but High Performance ATV did. I have the HP ATV kit for my YTM200, one of 3 kits that I have seen over the years.
Rare - yes, worth a lot - not really.
They only fit the 200 chain drive (not shaft drive) and still use the 200 motor.

The fox is right, Pro Tec never made a kit for the 200. They are quite uncommon but only worth money to very few people. Are you getting the trike back for yourself or to sell? You may get lucky and get a couple bucks over and above what you paid for it, but the economy is still sort of hosed right now. There have been people on here looking for the kits though. It would be super cool to see pics.

Lets see some pics of the trike, never seen a 200 with suspension. Watch its an old race trike, wouldn't that be awesome. If it were me I would try to get t back if just for the cool factor of having the only one around.
There are pictures of the kit that Fox has on here somewhere if you search. So you won't have the only one. But it would be the only one of maybe 3 or 4. They don't have the suspension of a tri-z or 200x, but they sure beat a plain hardtail. The kits weren't exactly what you would call cheap when they were new, but for the honda 185s, they were super popular. I never knew of many for the 200. I knew of more kits for the yt125/ yt175. And no, the 2 kits were not interchangable.

I haven't seen this thread in a long while. I knew it was still around. Makes me want to get my yt175 hybrid engine finished and get the pro tec 175 running around.

that the only reason i would want it....not to resell it, but yeah i know that it was raced for sure, we sold it about 5 years ago, i would have looked at it more carefully, but i thought it was like that from the factory

I haven't seen that thread in a while too. It has been nearly 4 years and I have a box of parts now lol. I guess the motivation left when I bought the 350x. I will get mine together one day, just have to get these zingers finished first.
CR - if you could get some pictures of it that would be great! I love seeing custom things others have done.
