Dude your on a hard core trike forum! LOL. Most people here know twice as much as the average trouble shooter like yourself. Its a centifigual clutch by the way. Valve clearance should be .003 for each valve if my memory serves me correctly.

Remove the nut on one side then pull the axle out the other side. There are retaining collars that fit into the fork keep the axle from being slid out vertically.

Once you take the nut off the axle and have loosened the 4 nuts on the bottom the fork, the axle will need to be tapped, or maybe in your case, pounded out. Get a long screw driver, or a socket extension and use that to the axle through.

Ok so that is just a nut on the end??
Wow mine is mengeled doesnt look like one...

I have no special tools. But this is where i ran into my only problem, I am rebuilding this bike painting etc.. Sanding outside of motor down to be chrome again.. Ill upload pictures today..

Anyway Lik ei said i have no air or impact gun.. Just my hands and a Ratchet with sockets..

Maybe just try to give it brute force? Ok and after i take that nut off i pound the axel out? I thought it unscrewed from the other side??

    Thanks guys

Also would u tell me if it is an 83? From suspension front ed im guessing yes? Always thought it was a 82 just with a different set of forks? idk

That is a "bolt", it is threaded into the right fork tube. Don't pound it out.

Looks like an 83. The axle threads in and you need to unscrew it. You are correct where you marked the pictures. That needs to unscrew. If it has unscrewed but still won't come out, you need a BFH and a drift and pound it out.

It can be a real b#$%!@ after 28 years. I had 2 give me a real hard time last year. Lot's of things make it hard:
    - corrosion on the threads between the axle and fork
    - corrosion on the bearings and axle
    - corrosion on the spacers/collars and axle
    - front brakes totally trash
    - bent forks even slightly

I'm a big ol boy and it took all I had and a 36" long 1/2" drive breaker bar to spin them out.
    Heat it.
Soak it - WD40 or some other penetrant although I've heard some like ATF and acetone
    Repeat

    Good luck.

Ok yea looked like it was threaded into fork tube..
So take nut off unscrew axel? Maybe with a rag around the axel and vise grips?

Thanks a bunch guys.. Been working on this for ever.. My forks broke where the bar goes into the frame to hold it in place.. Um the neck or whatever..

Tried welding no luck. Now i need to buy a set of forks but i need the hub.. Seeing that there is nothing wrong with it..

Also is timing these machines hard?
Wanted to take jug and stuff off to look at my rings but i dont wanna take it apart without getting it timmed.
Heard u just line the dots up but the whole TDC thing i dont understand...

Thanks Jb2wheels and monroe and every1 else who helped me.... Looks lik eit could be rusty where my axel threads into the forks looks like it anyway...

Im 150 23 year old.. Strong but with a 6 Inch ratchet....

Maybe ill try to soak it heat it soak it heat it..

All else fails just look into getting a whole new front end...

Standard 22" x 11 tire on the front i think

Sorry u said acetone?? Like nail polish remover? lol?
U think that would work? with a little WD

Timing can be tricky if you don't know what you're doing. The first time I tried to re-time an engine I put back together, I never got it right (wound up selling it actually..).

Once you understand what you need to do, then it gets easier and easier to do. Being just one tooth off on the timing sprocket can screw the entire thing up. A genuine Honda shop manual is a very handy thing to have.
