Clutch Chatter at Idle
Does anyone have clutch chatter at idle? I'm wondering if my auto clutch needs to be adjusted? I don't think it ever has been adjusted. Also, do you guys adjust your clutch while the engine is cold?
Is a clutch adjustment a normal adjustment to be made or is it hardly touched?
Thanks!

what kind of trike do you have?

Yes, you'll need to adjust the auto clutch....easy to do, just adjust the screw until you don't have any slop in the shifter.

Loosen this, tighten that, back off 1/8 turn and make sure the set screw doesn't move when you tighten it.
It that makes no sense to you. take a look thru the world class help section and sneak a peek at the manual for free.
Since we're not too sure what you're working on, it might be good for you to see for yourself and then ask some more questions.
We're here to help, but we need tools and info.
If the auto clutch is too loose, it will have trouble kick or pull starting.
If too tight, it will take off the instant you pick a gear and run over your foot.
I've made every mistake there is, so that's how I know.

I have both a 225dx and a 225dr. This is on my 225dx. It does it at idle in neutral. I am using 10w40 yamalube. kind of a popping clatter sound from the case housing that houses the clutch. It stops when i put it in gear.
The gears are also kind of rough to shift through. I'm thinking clutch adjustment?
I wonder if Honda GL-4 would be a better oil to use

This is the exact noise my 225dx makes.
This is not my bike. Is this clutch popping noise normal??
