    What year is my trike

While back, i ot a yt125.. I am not wondering, how can I determine the year for it?

The only numbers i found on the steering stem were 3x3 0005553.
    I've tried http://decodemyvin.webs.com/ and I'm pretty sure it's not from 2003.

The shift pattern is 1 n 2 3 4 5 and you will ALWAYS hit neutral, is it normal?

It has this style airbox This 1 here found on ebay
This style of throttle This 1 here found on ebay
This style gas tank cover This 1 here found on ebay

I know the early 1s have weak clutches, so i wont be modifing it.... much

Hey, if you do decide to do some mods on it, could you make a thread on it, because I also have a 1980 YT125 and I kind of want to know what else I can do to it.

Unfortunately, the 1980s have retarded clutches, they are weaker than the others years, so your limited on how much power you can get out of them reliably.

If i do any work, it will be a custom pipe (anything better than stock) and some port work.

I've already put the 175 carb on it and cut the back of the air box out, as well as a few passages. I need to open the intake boot up. It's got the larger(1983 reeds) on it.

It's still a turd none the less, but if i mod the engine for more power, ill make a thread.

i want a nice pipe too, but i dont know where to find one. i was thinking of finding a silencer off of a 125cc dirt bike and making it fit, but i dont know how that would sound.

Well the silencer wont make it go any faster, the 125 has 1 of the worst pipes I've seen yet on a 2 stroke. You need an expansion chamber to make it go... Now with some welding and modifications(adding 6 inches), a yz125 pipe would fit it. The port work isn't designed to run with that yz pipe.. but ANYTHING will make the 125 faster lol.

I've got a yz125 pipe i considering trying to stick on my 175, with the modifications and what not.

I don't want to put the whole pipe on it, I was thinking of just putting on the silencer part on the end. But if I can find an entire yz pipe, I will try and fit it.

You can find dented pipes all day on ebay, $25 shipped usualy. They aren't to much, and they wont fit without the mods, but they are SOOO close lol

yeah I see parts bikes on CL quite a bit. Do most other 125 cc 2 stroke bikes have similar pipe? Like, would a pipe from a kawasaki bike fit relatively easily with mods? And with the porting being different in the YT125 as compared to a yz125, would anything bad happen to my yt125? just wondering

Most pipes are similar, they just need a longer/ different shaped header pipe. You would have to rejet for the pipe(get a yt carb and rejet). The pipe would need to be 5-8 inches longer than the yz pipe. But when you make a new header, pipe for it, you can stretch it out.

If you want to go this route, i can get the exact numbers you need(or close to)

Yeah I think that would be what I would want to do. And yes, if you have the specifics, I would want them please. I would not have to rejet it if I just used a yz silencer though, would I?
