What replacement rims and tires suit the 85' 250SX??

I have been setting up my 250SX for the summer and since I got my Big Red I can't get over how 'girlie' rhe little tires and rims look by comparison.

Anyone send me a note detailing what rim/tire replacements combos can be put on to 'man it up' and bit?

I don't want to pimp it, just something a bit bigger and narrower for the front and wider for the rear. A bit meaner looking without harming performance.

    That's it..thats the one.

I want that setup..hopefully without having to replace the whole front end with that from a 250r or something.

That's a typical 200X fr end. That gets you the narrower front tire,as for rear, you need a Big bell rim to clear the rear brakes, other than that, the choices are many! But yes, polished rims really sets them apart!! Doug you need to concentrate on your new R ! Congrats!

Here are a few guys using different rims on the front of their SX to be able to run a slim tire.

i know you can't use the later honda wheels, the bolt pattern is right but the problem I had was the hubs are just a bit too big and wont fit inside the wheel.... you could grind them down I suppose but i wouldn't do that...

    Will an 85 350x wheel/tire fit on an 85 250sx?

I recently bought an 85 250SX and have been gleaning past articles and forums for ideas on this very topic. I am leaning toward stock size Kenda Scorpions for the rear and a narrower Kenda Front Max mounted on a 10" wheel for the front. Not completely decided on that setup yet but definite on the stock size rear tires and narrow 10" wheel for the front. I ordered up an ITP 4/110 10x5 2+3 wheel for the front last night. Other considerations for the front are the Duro Thrasher or a Maxxis Pro Front but still shopping. Wanting to stay with 2 ply if at alll possible.

I don't know for sure but I think the bolt pattern size is slightly larger.

I may just buy a new tire. I saw a local ad for a 350x being parted out so I thought I would ask.
