ignore the electrical tape on the wire we had to attach the wires from the old engine on this one because they were cut when the trikes were banned

Seriously dude, sell this engine to someone who will respect it's rarity, and buy another engine to use as a runner.

Don't waste this engine, who knows how few could be out there.......
This is my trike. There are many like it but this one is mine. My trike is my best friend, and it is my life. I must master it as I must master myself. My trike without me is useless. Without my trike, I am useless. I must ride my trike true. My trike and I know that what counts is not the amount of miles we ride, but the time we ride together. My trike is human in it's own ways, therefore I will learn it as my brother. I will learn it's weaknesses, it's strengths, it's parts, and it's soul.

I say run it, but care for it. What the hell good is a $1400 paper weight? Its not like he bought Buster Browns Crated 250r and is putting it together. Its just an engine, they pop up on Ebay all the time.

I bet there are more of these things out there than you think. I look for there to be a flood of NOS parts once the ecomomy turns around. Guys that don't need to sell this stuff right now are seeing what prices this stuff is bringing in a bad economy and are just salivating for things to turn around.

I may be wrong, but I guess we'll see.

"Take care of that engine!!!!!!" is all I have to say. Break it in gently, and use all of the recommended fluids for it. It should treat you well, provided you treat it well.

Run that motor...the best way I can think of to pay it the respect of it's historical significance is to put it in a trike and ride it... I couldn't get that in a chassis and kicked over fast enough...nice score

Im with you guys on this one. Run it, but take good care of it. Nice find... Pricey? Yes. But nothing in life worth having comes cheap! Cool thing about it is that you know the whole history of that engine and can properly break it in and mantain it meticulously. I imagine back in the day when everybody "knew" the trikes would continue to be produced for years and years, not as many people took as good care of this stuff as they could have. Totally different scenario now. Those of us who are still loving on the old dogs tend to be alot more meticulous about taking care of these things cuz there are less and less of them out there every day.

    Congrats on your find!
