Looking to ad another stallion or 2 to the stable. Suggestions?

Well Thinkin about building a new shed so I have more room for toys.
I would like to buy 2 new machines, one for me and one for pops.
I was thinkin 1 350x and 400ex, 2 350x and 200x, and 3 a 350x and a Warrior. I figured those would all be fairly cheap at around $4500 a pair and would complement each other in the woods.
I would like to own all these one day anyways along witha Banshee, Tec-4, Tec-3, and a Quadzilla just to round things out.
Any comment on machine order/ pairing is welcome, and if you must bash quads go ahead.
P.S. also looking for pros and cons of each model.
    Thanks, Ty

As far as the quads go Banshee's are at the stage in their life where they are cheap (at least around me) parts are still available, and they are new enough that you can find a low hour bike for next to nothing. I love mine and to me there is no other ride like one in the ATV world. These are just my opinions. I have owned three and loved everyone of them and I really don't care for Yamaha's all that much.

No warriors , I would get a trx 450R but i have no complaints with my 02 400ex. I have owned it for 4 years now and have not had one single issue with it , although it has been sitting alot more since i got a trx 450R .

BKM I always had people bashing Banshee's in my area, I've never ridden one but figured them being a 350 twin 2 stroke would def be different. I dont even know what they sound like, I figured a high revving crotch rocket would be the closest they sound to. I always heard you gotta be on the pipes, (no cruising) but a couple years ago I read in Dirtwheels that a set of FMF Gnarly SST's gave them awesome low end torque while retaining top end pull. Anything to look for on a Shee? I know to stay away from the early J-Arm ones, but like you said I could prob find a decent 00-03 already piped for around $2000-$2500. Anything else I should know?

Greg, thats what I was thinking, I've been seeing nice 400s on the cheap that are in good to awesome condition. Rode one back in the day, but then never thought about them till recently when I just got this unresistable urge that I needed one.I def want a red one around 00-02 (dont like those buggy looking new ones), although the new reverse would be cool, but I'm sure those will retro fit older units. I just love that side-by-side dual headlight look.Whats everyones thoughts on the 440ex kits? Reliable? Add that much more torque/power?

They're not the friendliest bike on the trails but it can be done. I had a '95 that had the older FMF torque pipes and it wasn't too bad on the trails. If you can find one of the older 2 into 1 pipes that helps alot on low end power. I think they were made by dyno-port.

As far as what to look for, the a-arm bushings are for shitte, chain adjustment is like a Tri-z and sucks, airbox is horrible and the fiter slides in and is held down by the lid and the seal is less than desireable. Look at the air filter and if there is a gap between the filter and the back of the box its probably been sucking a lot of dirt. I have an aftermarket aluminum box on mine that takes a TRX250r clamp on filter.

I suggest riding one before buying it because they are not for everyone. I personally am a 2-stroke guy and don't mind clutching and lightswitch type powerbands. If these two things bother you, then a banshee probably isn't for you.

I was thinkin the same thing, this will prob be the choice I go with when I pick up a pair of bikes, (for right now I'm gonna get an 83-85 200x on the cheap).

The only thing I hate about 400EX's is no back up start. If the battery goes dead about the only thing to do is bumpstart. not so bad if you got a hill or another machine to pull you.
I wonder why they never made a kickstart conversion or at least a back up pullstart conversion. I know with the Warriors you can retro-fit the auxiliary pull starter from the first couple year Quads. (87-89 I believe)
