Thank you! That's the kind of comments I was wanting 2 hear! I like the stance of this thing, the overall look, colors and chrome accents. Chrome gets you home right?! Haha, I'm getn all the specifics on the engine build, it was supposedly done up by a reputable guy near the area. Runs on 110 octane (no puttn around the barnyard on this baby). Looks like it was all put together with serious intentions. Ill keep u guys posted. Thanks

Yeah, lookn a little closer at the pics I see the lack of rear motor mount and the busted out bolt holes..... u guys think that's a deal breaker?? Anything else I should look for? I will probably pick her up 2moro..... unless the experts here talk me out of it. I wish I had a larger pool of 250Rs 2 choose from around here but its slim pickins. Thanks guys

Well I wouldnt call them deal breakers, maybe something you can use to knock the price down. You also might look into the rear suspension as it seems to be sitting low. Hopefully when the extended swingarm was put on they built the shock for it.(heavier spring/revalve) Also you mention its an 86 but that is an 88-89 frame. The swingarm bolt on 86-87 go through back of the motor. Good luck

"The swingarm bolt on 86-87 go through back of the motor."
I do not agree with that statement.
I forget exactly what years do what but one style of swingarm had a separate motor support that went in the middle of the swingarm, this is the support mentioned that "isn't" there. I think this is the 86 style.
The newer r's had a solid swingarm and utilized motor mounts on the frame. If it is a 89 frame, this is why there is no motor mount (swingam style).
If you look at the pic (pipe side) you'll see the motor mount bolt in front of the swingarm bolt.
To sum up...the swingarm/motormounts are fine.
Like mentioned, the case saver bolt holes broken is what would worry me. If it's not leaking oil, it could be fine.
I used long bolts in mine instead of studs when I had this issue.
    Good luck!
    R's rule!

Only difference in the motors between 86-89::
86's have the short rod and the cylinder does not have a bridged intake side.
87's up use the long rod style (liked by most all motor builders). The 87 had a lil better cylinder design and the 88-89 cylinders had a bridged intake side and is the cylinder used by all.

My r is a 88 frame with 85 ATC cases, short rod (quick revs), and blah blah from all different years.
The only thing that will not work from year to year is the CDI's. Some years had different connections.

Yeah the guy said 86....can u tell if the engines 88-89 or is there any noticable differences?? Aren't the 88-89s more desirable?

if it's a 86 or 87 motor the gap between 5 and 6 gear kinda kills the motor even with the 310 kit ..

No it isn't a powervalve cylinder, check out eddiesandersracing.com to learn the difference between pv and non pv set ups.
