    Big Red plow finished

Started with a 60" plow I got from a friend. Cut 5 1/2 inces off each side. Made the mount and hoop based on the one Thorpe built, thanks Thorpe, all the pics you posted really made this project go very easily. A friend epoxy painted everything for me, he claims it's as durable as powder. I didn't spend much time making the winch mount pretty, my front rack is bent up more than Ottis Campbell on Saturday night. When I find a decent replacement dront rack I'll do it up proper like. Bring on the ice!!!

Looks real good! (Nice thing about bent up racks, is you don't feel bad cutting them up and reinforcing the crap out of them....)
No trikes. Too old, too crippled. Unless I find one I can't live without!

Very well done bro! I am curious why you didn't gusset the back corners by the foot pegs though?

Chains sure do make for a rough ride. Planning on studding the tires. Made this plow purely for plowing ice racing tracks.

The back part of the push tubes pivots allowing the plow to move up and down, gussets would prevent that. I really don't think any more gussets are needed. This thing is solid. Not much flex at all.

One thing I may have forgotten to mention in my build. I have 2 sets of front forks. One with blown seals and a good set I ride on in the summer. Wet snow, gets really hard on keeping the fork seals intact... A sandbag and a ratchet strap on the rear rack will help give you offset the plow weight too...

I've thought about the wear on the fork seals. Actually just replaced them along with 15w Amsoil shock therapy. So I think I'll only have the plow on when I need to do track maintenence. The plow unmounts from the trike in less than a minute, two bolts and the winch cable. Big Red is my main machine for cruizing the lake and ice fishing, having the plow on all the time would hinder mobility, and fun. I already plannd on a sandbag or some sort of weight on the rear rack when plowing for added traction, or as one of my riding buddies said, "just need to find a couple a fatties to ride along for traction".
