4 mil. Or big bore 250r

What is the most popular? I would like to pump up the power of my 86 250r over the winter. There is a lot of options out there, would like to do this once. I was thinking about the 310cc kit from ESR. Would like to hear from someone who has been there and done it. Thanks. Craig

I just sent my crankcases to ESR to be bored for a 350 cylinder kit. I wanted to stay with the sock stroke and the 350 is the biggest you can go with ESR without getting into a stroker crank. The 310 is nice because it doesn't require case boring, it's a direct bolt-on kit.

I'll let you know how I like my 350 when I get to try it out. But I probably won't be able to take it out till spring....All I can say is that I'm excited as heck!

There are a few guys on here that have experience with big bore kits that helped me out ALOT in my decision making process. I'm sure they will chime in.

It all comes down to if you want a bolt on kit or if you feel like splitting the cases?

I talked to an experienced pipe builder today about my plans. He basically said, if i want to go with a in frame pipe to keep the motor under 330cc. I will most likely pull the motor and go through it over the winter.

I hear tell the ESR ATC5 pipe will work quite well with my 350 kit. That's the pipe I will be running... And no, I'm not basing that solely on what ESR told me. LOL! I have been doing quite a bit of looking around here and elsewhere..

I will let you know when riding season rolls back around. Like you, I am doing this build over the winter......Be looking for a first ride report sometime around April or May of next year. Trust me, I won't forget.....

Thanks man. I can't take the credit for it though (I'm not that clever). I saw it on one of the comments for a Johnny Cash video on youtube and stole it.

OP: Keep us updated on your project.

He didn't say it couldn't be done. He said if it was bigger than 330cc , he would rather do a out of frame pipe for it.

Hey Kasey... That swinger looks like an '85 spec.. (brake caliper stay) If you don't mind my asking, who makes that swinger and do they still make them?
