Another forum to waste my time on...

So, I will commence wasting my time by telling everyone here about my Honda ATC 110.My dad started this project several years ago, but it lost all compression. I installed another motor, but the carb leaked and I got only a weak spark. After filing the points, I got no spark at all (Probably
something to do with the wire tape connections running from them). So, I joined here, hoping that you guys can push me forward on this project and get it done. I already have a lot of mechanical experience, as shown here : http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1607757

Welcome to the site. Nice machine, don't look like it will take too much to make it really stand out. If you have a problem be sure to search the forums first. In the 10+ years I have been a member I have pretty much seen that about every issue has been talked about.

FYI, After you been here a while you will realize your not wasting your time here. We have a vast amount of info and knowledgable and helpful users here. Yes, we all take some lumps from other users once and a while ( some users just have to be avoided / ignored ). Just remember you have such users / people everywhere in life.

Those machines are definitely worth having.
A points fired 110?
Search key maybe something like 'intermittent spark' or 'no spark'
will give you almost every scenario ever encountered.

I always keep at least one 90 ready to fly.
They don't weigh anything, and will go almost anywhere, even places I can't walk
through.
A tank of gas lasts forever.

so now you have no spark?
There are quite a few places to look, usually grounds.
Coil to frame, harness connections etc especially if you had spark before you filed the points.

I use a piece of folded over sandpaper between the points
and then make sure to fold the paper over and use the paper side to 'clean' the newly created dust off the points.

As I recall, there is some delicate connections and spacer type insulators in that assembly.

And then we can move on to checking stator coil output.

Sometimes something as simple as nipping the last tiny bit off the coil wire can give the
spark plug cap some fresh wire to bite to can make a huge difference.
Can you get spark directly from the wire without the sparkplug resistor cap on there?

And yes, these are occasionally referred to as a 'past time'.

I personally cannot live without a few trikes.
They'll walk right past stuck 4wd quads.

I feel pretty stupid right now, since I called it points, and when I went and worked on it some, the CDI box stared me in the face. So, sorry if I confused anyone. I
did get some spark, though it is weak. Anyway, here are some photos of it I took today

When my dad got it, they were already on it. They do elevate it so that you feel like you are riding a larger vehicle.
