BKM, Ceaserthethird. It's alive!

After a long time of collecting parts, I fired the 85 250r up yesterday. Roller came from BKM, and Ceaserthethird supplied the motor and a mountain full of other parts. Thxs guys and others too who sold me parts I needed, atcEric, thebluewhale, billy just to name a few. This was a complete build, not a pretty bike but a rider and every part was shipped to me from the US to Canada. Its great to have it done and It's alive. No pics. You all know what they look like. and I'm not entirely finished. Chain gotta go on, back breaks need bleeding, etc.

Sure is! Between work and other projects I've been slacking on this one. Now finally I have two running 250r's. Unfortunely this one is gonna be sold to fund another project. But from a frame sitting in a field and a pile of parts to a running bike it feels good to save another one. Thats the second R I took on that was a major project to save. My 81R that I sold started out worst off and was sold a pretty clean Rider. The next project is not trike related, its my Acura Integra. Just finished my 78 K5 Blazer a few months ago. Maybe a little further down the road I'll try to save another trike... maybe I need a 350x?

It must feel good to hear it run. Im doing the same thing total build and mine started with a gas tank and now am about 75% on parts gathering and engine is now complete from Ceasar and Bluewhale. Still needing brakes and a few other things but its killing me how far this has come in such a short time and should be ready to fire up in a month....I HOPE!!! Congrats on the build and slap some pics up of your progress if possible.

Very cool Brockey. It has came a very long way in both condition and shipping to say the least. The sad part about that bike was it was a very low hour bike that had a very tough short running life. If you would have seen the condition of what was left of the engine it would amaze you, plus the fact that the pivot bolt slid right out along with the axle nut. Hell the clutch basket didn't even have any grooves in it.

Thxs again for shipping it to me. Everything on the bike came apart pretty easy and it cleaned up rather nicely. It seemed to be low hour for sure. The rear carrier adjusted first try and all the teeth are on it. I thought it would be rusted froze. Also the rear swing arm is in pretty nice shape when I cleaned it off. And it goes to a new home tomorrow. and Ceaserthethird the engine has loads of compression, if you kick her and don't follow thru it almost feels like its gonna throw you. Starts first kick.

Wondering, how do I fill up the antifreeze. I have some in there and have been running the bike at an idle. Now I am giving the throttle a few blips. It hasn't went down. Should I have the cap off while doing this?

You can crack the bleeder screw loose on the side of the jug but with the radiator up so much higher than the engine they do a real good job of filling up on the first try. I've never had a air pocket in mine after fill up. Just make sure the reservoir is full and you'll be good to go.

Ok... I remember seeing pics of this before and asked about the black tank. Good job on the build again.

Thxs man. Ya that's the painted tank. It's holding up so far. BKM, ya it seem to fill up perfectly the first attempt. Will keep an eye on it tho.
