    Need help with timing

    Ok so I just got my 85 ytm 200 motor put back together and I need to set the timing before I try to start it if anyone knows please help me out

    If I knew how, I would tell you but I've never even seen a ytm.

    Are you thinking valve timing or ignition.

    with yamaha there is a notch on the cylinder head and a cap you remove that shows the fly wheel. rotate the flywheel till it has the t mark line up and rotate the cam till it lines up, put the chain on the cam gear and lock it down all the while holding the fly wheel in time . It isn't as hard as it sounds, plus ytm's don't have a pulse generator so that's one less thing that can be put in wrong when you a reassembling.
