I started a thread here before, but it was lost when the site crashed. SO I am trying again. The 300EX build started because we have property in McNaughton WI, and there are many ATV trails in the area BUT you have to be 16 to ride a 3 wheeler there. My Daughter is going to be 12 this summer and I decided to build her a Quad. I picked up a 300EX that needed a top end rebuild and while looking for parts I found a great deal on a barely running 300EX that cane with a spare motor that had a good top end. I put 1 good quad together with parts from both. When I was done I realised I had enough parts to put the second one together and this is it. I upgraded the front end to 400EX arms and 450R shocks. In the rear it is running a 350X swingarm and shock that was left over from my 350X build. This is where it is at now, I am waiting on the 350X shock, as Simply Suspensions is rebuilding it for me, and wheels/tires. It is running great, I had to go .060 over to clean up the bore, but I am running a 10.5 to 1 piston, FMF exhaust, and an old Poweroll air box lid. we both rode it around the yard yesterday and it feels pretty good. Enough B.S. on to the pics:
I will be hitting Tapper up for a swingarm skid and make a frame and A-arm skids in the next few weeks.
