    finally back with a trike.

Well it has been a long time since I have had a trike. I joined this forum ten years ago when I was 14 and only had an 85 atc 110. Well needless to say priorities came up and I've been trikeless for far to long. I have a 3 year old daughter and a wife now. We are buying a house and in the garage sits an old beat up trike. I didn't get a chance to look at it long but it is a 200x with white fenders. What's left of them anyways. I am assuming its an 86. He says it runs great but its stuck in 2nd gear. He said he never messed with it after that. I'm hoping its just a stripped shifting peg. What else can it be? Oh and the guy said if I wanted it its one less thing he has to get rid of. I definately want to restore it this winter but don't know which way to go. Stock custom or in between. What after market parts are available anymore. Thanks in advance

Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER say that.
This is my trike. There are many like it but this one is mine. My trike is my best friend, and it is my life. I must master it as I must master myself. My trike without me is useless. Without my trike, I am useless. I must ride my trike true. My trike and I know that what counts is not the amount of miles we ride, but the time we ride together. My trike is human in it's own ways, therefore I will learn it as my brother. I will learn it's weaknesses, it's strengths, it's parts, and it's soul.

welcome back , if its a 1986-87 , it might be worth restoring mostly stock ,if you can find the parts , if its the more commen 83-85 200x then parts are easyer to find and there is more aftermarket stuff out there, so it comes down to how much $$$ and how fast vs reliable do you want the build to be.. the 200x is a great all round trike ,if a little underpowered in the sand, deep mud ,step hills , but for most riders it will do most any type riding you want, stock they are very relieble,
    GOT MUD?:

If I can restore this piece of junk, anything is possible.

I know, but that's like saying 'What's the worst that can happen', or in my area 'Y'all watch this and hold my beer'.

Well I got the broken piece out however I don't know what it is. It goes around the star gear to select the gear. Any idea what it could be and where I can find one. It has hb5 stamped on it
