    opinions on Paul Turner pipes?

hi has anyone here used a Paul Turner pipe on their ATC250R? im looking at buying one but would like to know how they perform. They are listed as a 'high rev' pipe, i prefer a wide/ broad powerband to suit all kinds of riding so not sure if this will suit me??? does not seem to be much options though (really want to stay away from FMF i possible)

I run a Hi-Rev on my 310. It runs good but fits like crap.

If you are looking for options I'm running an ESR. It fits good, it looks good, it performs good. No complaints from me at all. Plus its chrome. I've also ran stock, DG, and FMF. This is by far my favorite.

PT is way better than fmf. Lower power band is fine. ESR is also good, I have all 3.

I had an FMF, PT Hi Rev, and the ESR ATC5 and out of all of them i liked the ESR it ran and revved very well at Glamis love the ESR pipe of all. I had all three pipes dyno tuned when I installed them but I threw all dyno sheets away when I sold it, and the ESR made the most power if I remember well.
But it all has to do with where you are riding it? Good luck with your choice.

I have no experience with the PT pipe so I can't say anything about it either way.

But what I can say is my ESR ATC5 runs GREAT on my 350BB with TRX9 porting. I opted for the standard mount pipe as I need to run my airbox due to the conditions I sometimes ride in. Fitment was very good, and clean. The only minor alteration I had to make was to the front right corner of the engine skidplate. Due to the ESR pipe being kind of fat (considerably fatter than the FMF Fatty I used to run) I had to peen the corner of my skidplate to clear the expansion chamber.

Only downside to ESR is the chrome plating is a bit substandard. After about 5 hours runtime I have a couple small spots that the plating is beginning to peel off. I would have ordered a bare pipe and had it ceramic coated by Dynoport, but they had no bare pipes in stock when I made my order.

I bought my ESR pipe in 2004. It has never seen polish, and it is still in perfect condition.

I have a PT HI Rev. I bought it in 1996 and it still on the bike. It ran great with the 250cc cylinder and the ESR 330 with TRX9 porting. Crisp and clean all the way through and does not miss a beat. It was chromed from the start and even after 15 years, it still looks great with no rust. I bought another one for my 250 7 or 8 years ago and it is great too. This one has a little surface rust that I polish off once and a while. Chrome jobs can change though. I do like my pipes as I have 2 of them and they pull all the way through the powerband on both bikes.

thanks all for the opinions. Sounds like either the PT or ESR, just dont want a peaky powerband as i do alot of different riding dunes, tight trails etc. I like the smooth broad power they have in stock form just want more of it

I have a ESR and a FMF the esr is alot more power from idle to top compared to the fmf. i had a new ESR pipe and in 20 minutes the plating started coming off I returned it and bought a used one with the chrome peeling for $150. In my book half price. My first ESR fit pretty good. THe second one I put on a billet flange and had to stack flange gaskets to about 3/16" thick so the pipe wouldn't rub on the wish bone frame just off the motor and way back by the stinger I cut a relief in it to straiten the direction so it wouldn't melt my fender behind the kick starter.
