    Hockey is Back !!!!!!

Not that many will care, but the best sport and the best players on the planet will be back on my TV. Being a life long St. Louis Blues fan, which is the NHL equivalent to being a Chicago Cubs fan, I can't wait to see them back on the ice and hopefully make a run to the Cup which will ultimately end in their usual heartbreaking fashion. I've been feenin for some NHL action and now that billionaires are done fighting with millionaires it will be back again.

I'm not a woman and don't feel the need to be courted in order to win back my affection. I'm ready for some as$ kicking action and I can't wait for the gloves to fly.

Fantastic news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the update, that kind of news does not make it on to Televisa here.

And on that note my university/tequila hockey league starts up in a couple weeks. I just need to figure out how to get my shoulders back in their respective sockets and I'm ready to go too!!!!

BTW, how can you expect to win with a name like "the blues"?

I've been questioning that my whole life. When you name your team after a state of depression what the hell do you expect? That used to drive my old man crazy when I would ask him that. He would explain that they were named after the heavy Blues Music influence that St. Louis has. I remember my mom making me go to bed early when the games were still being played on the westcoast and I would sneak my AM transistor radio into the bed and put on my earbuds and listen to Dan Kelly and Ken Wilson call the games. I couldn't control myself and I'd be sreaming when they would score or a fight was happening and man mom would come in there and give me the business, dad would laugh because it was the same stuff he did at my age. Mom never understood and still doesn't. lol

The opening and closing of every Blues game on the radio and at the arena before and after the games is this song.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CmUrjSbLXg

To this day where ever I'm at, no matter what I'm doing, if I hear "The March of the St. Louis Blues" by Glenn Miller I get goose bumps. There was a point in time that if someone in my family died during a Blues game they better put them on ice until the game was over, because Dad, Grandpa, and I were watching hockey. It was a way of life in my family and god help me if these bastards ever win the Cup. I'll cry uncontrollably like a little girl. Damn how I love this game!!!!

I am pumped...believe it or not I am a predators fan. Only because in Milwaukee we have the farm (AHL) team that is pretty good and we win the cup and are in the playoffs consistently.

Hockey never left. The NHL left. Why does everyone mix those two up. Ignorance is rampant again.
I hope folks here can understand the difference between a trike and a quad and between hockey and the F'n NHL.
Head down to your local rink and watch some pee wee action. Support the sport not the corporation.

Ignorance? As a fan of the game I also enjoy a good high school game or watching my buddies kids play, but when they start doing the things NHLer's can, then you can start comparing the two. Sorry if I don't live in Hockey land like you do. Just like a three wheeler enthusiast, the hockey fan is persecuted for the most part in my area so to me the NHL is a big thing and its also a huge part of my families traditions with members of it who are no longer with me. So to put it lightly I take offense to your "Ignorance" comment and in the good taste of the website, I'll keep to my self what I really want to say to you.

I coach, I ref, I play, my daughter plays, AND I also enjoy watching the best of the best play and that doesn’t happen when a bunch of greedy fools start arguing over more money than I can comprehend, so yea, Hockey was gone, at least the highest level of it.

My two cents; I'm Canadian and I can't stand the NHL. Who gives a rat's azz that they're back! My son played hockey for many years and I enjoyed watching them give it their all for a few pats on the back and some applause. Add to the fact that we still have natural ice arenas in this area and that makes for awesome grassroots hockey. These overpaid buffoons (players and owners) should make a decent wage but not more than than the average joe; after all it's the job/profession they choose and should be treated as such.

We life in a free market society. An individual can only make as much as someone is willing to pay them and if that’s not enough they have the option of starting their own business. To dislike this is to dislike capitalism. You are lucky to still have some outdoor rinks. That is something every kid should experience.

In the next week or so, I look forward to once again hearing the golden voice of Mike Lange say, "It's a hockey night in Pittsburgh."

This is much needed in my neck of the woods considering the Steelers didn't make the playoffs and the Pirates are, well.... the Pirates.
It's a great time to be a Penguins fan, though. With Fleury in goal and the top two lines still in place, this could be another championship year.
