Thanks guys, a few ?? answered
    - I had the plating done at a local shop here in London, Precision Plating, total was about 130 and that covered all nuts, bolts, brackets, axles, bells and whistles. This is the first time I've used them and they did an awesome job. My other builds were plated via tecat-z here on the boards but it was time to find someone local.

    - 6 spd is from a 83 XR200 I got from Tapper. Everything seems to work out with the swap, a few differences with kicker gear tooth counts but all in all pretty easy. I believe 1,2,3 are exactly the same ratio and the final ratio ends up at .815:1 on the 6 spd vs .923:1 on the 5spd. So yes, a little more top speed but with the 20" tires replacing the 22"s it should end up close to the same .

    - bkm, no the R is back on OEM rubber, covered and nestled in the corner of the basement. Got to get the riders fixed up for spring first. This was added to the list in the late fall, My daughters Blaster had a piston melt down last year and needed some attention and my Black and blue mule 250R is in need of some much deserved loving.

    gotta keep on keepin on

Keep it up Ross, it look nice as always. Its nice having a plater close. Mine is 5 miles from my house and the price is almost exact. It was $140 for yellow and clear.

Yea Ed's guy did an awesome job, but the distance was impractical. On the other builds it just worked out that we met up at the right time. This guy did a great job, dropped it off on Fri and got a call the following Tues it was done, Two working days for turnaround, couldn't ask for better.

What kind of plating is it. I don't have a local shop here but there is in baton rouge. It would help to know what kind of plating it is to see if they do it. Thanks.

Actually Kintore there is two, The big guy is the only production zinc plater between Detroit and Toronto, this shop is smaller and seems to cater to smaller jobs.

The silver color is clear zinc and the yellow or gold color is yellow zinc.

Awesome Ross! Looks like a nice project. Really love your plating detail.

I had to get another plater to do olive and black, for reasons you are aware. I didn't get near the quality or pleasant experience as with Ed and his guy though. The olive and black is harder to source out in small batches, at least that's been the case for me. Ed's guy was top notch and very reasonably priced (Thanks, Ed).

Good luck with the build. Hope to run into you and your family again someday riding.

Had a good day today, pot of coffee, watched powerblock, then headed for the basement. Got a lot assembled on my wife's X today. Just about as far as I can go till I get what I need as far as parts, A few odds and ends to order and it shouldn't be too long till it lives again.

And so it is done! There's still a few bits to finish up, but she runs and has some spunk! There's a set of Maier Rider Plastics so I don't trash the OEM ones that came with it. A front fender is on the way from BKM (Thanks buddy). I'll have to look to Mr Swinehart for a shifter cover/rubber if he can help me out (Shannon)

Nice work! I assume you just went with an OEM set of kicker gears to stop the slipping?
