I am seriously contemplating buying a fighting red maier rear, front, and a jeswinehart number plate for my bike so I can ride it. Then sticking my NOS light setup, fenders ect in storage. Everything else on my 250r can be re-coated, re-plated, or re-built, but the NOS plastic cannot be replaced unless you have some very deep pockets.

That fighting red color changed the whole look of the Maier plastics.. Looks a lot closer to oem now. Thinking about some of the fighting red Maier plastics myself.

I agree. I just sold my '85 250r to yeagerb and it has new fenders on it, but they are the darker red ones. I had contemplated on doing this, but the color was so far off and they just wouldn't have looked right after doing all that work to the bike. The Fighting Red color is so close that to the average guy, you wouldn't be able to really tell the difference. Then a guy could protect his set of national treasures and still enjoy his ride.

Funny I was thinking same thing even if I went with white for riding and putting all oem up. They are to nice to booger up and too expensive to replace
