I think the KLT's have a set up that allows them to unlock.

If by ATC you mean only Honda, then....I don't know, most do. I do know that some of the KLT's had differentials. There is also a street legal Tecate on here from overseas that has a custom made differential to make it more tolerable on pavement.

The KLT200C, Duckster, and i believe the KLT250 have a locking and unlocking rear differential.

They do have differentials but it is still one solid axle.

The SX and big red have a pinion gear that turns a ring gear that is fitted over splines on the solid rear axle and drives both wheels.

a shaft drive solid axle is not the same thing as a differential. a lot of people confuse the two. it is still a single, solid axle. power is just transmitted through bevel gears rather than through chain and sprockets. A differential, has two independent axles that are allowed to turn at different speeds i.e, turning a corner. The only trikes that had differentials were some of the KLT 200s. if it has a solid rear axle, it does NOT have a differential. no matter if it is chain or shaft drive. someone not too long ago posted a video of how differentials work. its very cool, and explains fery simply how differentials work.

Here is the link to that thread: I recommend everyone who is confused about differentials to watch it http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthr...a-Rear-Diff-Is

Ok I'll admit my ignorance on this one. I had watched the video and have a basic understanding of differentials from it. No expert for sure, but then what do call the housing on the rear of my es & sx? I've always heard them referred to as "differentials"? Would it be considered more of of transfer case as it transferring power to the axle through the pinion gear which gets it from the drive-shaft? Help me learn something new here guys.
