So I jus posted my 225dx on Craigslist for trade and a guy offered me a 96 Yamaha blaster it's pretty it is currently not running it needs a stator and thats it, it was just rebuilt a little while ago, me and my brother always wanted a blaster but we never had the money, so im pretty sure were gonna do the trade, it's a pretty quick fix I shouldn't have a problem doing.
If everything works out good ill be posting some pics of it, defenantly going to fixer up pretty nice, an then later I will probably trade it for a 250r or 350x but that won't be for awhile.
I'll keep u guys updated on how it goes, when blasters are fixed up around here they go for pretty penny too

I don't think anyone would trade a blaster for a 350X or 250R in the future, but you never know. Blasters have always seemed kinda small but it may be a good trade!

I just traded a 2001 blaster for a 200x. The blasters are pretty quick it had a pipe on it and was loud ass hell just too small for me if i weighed 120 lbs it would be great any ways got a nice real good cond 200x but didn't run they attempted to fix it and messed it all up outa time and bent the valves and timing chain and guides got messed up any ways 335 dollars later from the local shop runs like a champ i think he got the better deal value wise bit im happy to lose a wheel

blasters are a lot of fun.... i have had a few of them in the past. im sure you will out grow it though, no moatter how much you modify it . good luck with it buddy, any questions with it feel free to inbox me!

i would'nt trade a running atc for a non running atv....in my area blasters are a dime a dozen...just saying

The guy is telling you all it needs is a stator. Problem is, you do the trade, MAYBE get that blaster going and find out it's a piece of junk. Be careful. Just sayin

i agree. its risky trading a running bike for a non-running. he may just be saying its a stator but could have other things blown electrically and after tracking it down and getting spark it could have engine troubles. i understand you want it but i would hold out for running bike. or tell him to replace stator and then youll trade and pay for stator. trader beware

Yea Personally I wouldn't do the trade if it's not running. Also the hole "it was rebuilt a little while ago" is fake. Let me guess they barely had any hours on it after that? Maybe 30minutes on a rebuild and "got bored of it" or something stupid? Everyone on Craigslist says that. Why would you spend a ton of money on a rebuild.. drive it for a half hour and sell it for what my guess is a complete loss? Personally I bet there's a lot more wrong with it then just a stator. Then again it could be an amazing machine..

All in all i would stay away, just my opinion though.

Horrible deal! I don't know how nice your 225dx is but around here you can grab a running blaster for as low as $600 and non running ones far cheaper than that.
