trimoto 225dx-pull start has great spark-- starter turns strong--no spark -help!

Folks--my 1984 yamaha 225dx is going through a refurb. carb is rebuilt, gas tank cleaned, new air and gas filters etc. Problem i have is that bike starts right up with pull starter, does not have spark when using the electric start. The starter motor turns strong, just no spark. Anyone have a wiring schematic or suggestion on what this could be?
    Thanks --Cliff NY.

here is a link to a downloadable manual which has a wiring schematic, and have you checked your stator, and coils yet, mine has a bad section on the starting coil and it wont start electrically, but will pull start no problem, but before you go tearing into your stator check out the wiring diagram http://www.oscarmayer.net/atc/manuals/
rectum nothin damn near killed them

Looked at manual---Doesnt have any info on stator and how to troubleshoot it or even where it is. Any suggestions?
Again--pull starter works fine--bike starts on one pull
electric starter turns motor over just no spark. Thanks again!

is there a chance somethings plugged in wrong on the harness? stators generally always on the left side of the engine behind the pullstart case.

Holy crap---i was looking at the troubleshooting flow charts that dont mention "stator" Chapter 7 has it all! Thanks!!!--fyi--removal of rotor etc.. with gear puller is out of my comfort zone. I'll check ohm/resistance on those charging leads and if its a stator i'll sell the bike"as is" pull start only. I 'm refurbing bike to sell, im 57 and son is now 19---I havent used bike for 10 years. Time to let her go---

Folks--I notice the run/off switch is broken making that connection"open"? Would this cause the symptom of pull start works engine starts right up-----electric starter turns motor over strong but no spark/start? Thanks
    BTW-All connections clean.
