198? Tri Moto 125

Not to sure what year my Tri-moto is found 5v6-009336 on the frame where the fork runs threw. but that is not my only problem. this tri, runs great but keeps on blowing the headlight and the tail light. replaced the headlight with a 12v and it still blew it wasn't sure if this has a voltage regulator or maybe there is a ground
that is common on these to corrode. and also is there a bearing that goes between the frame and the fork to make it not so sloppy? i bought this for my 8 year old and want to get it straight before we take it out.

Yes to the voltage regulator, yes to the steering stem bearing..both of these are detailed in the service manual.

I hope your boy is experienced at riding..a 2stroke 125 is a pretty snotty trike to put an 8 year old on in most cases.

he has a 2004 honda xr70r dirtbike also he has been riding for about a year and always wears a helmet and always supervised, no worries

lighting coil? if that had a bad ground would it blow the lights? or is the lighting coil bad?

@ Check the coil.
Make sure you watch close, those little things do have SOME power

so this has never happened before, i read the owners manual and it said the lighting coil should put out 5.8 volts at 3000rpm and 8.3 volts at 8000rpm, and to check it at the
yellow and red wire, and the ohms should be between .42-.5, so i grabbed my multimeter and started it and with out even touching the probes onto anything my multimeter started going haywire, so i shut the wheeler off and the multimeter went back to normal. tried it again, same result. to make sure it wasn't my multimeter i hooked it up to my four wheeler and it worked fine. any suggestions?

so i have been playing with the wires on this thing all day. (not cutting any of them just tracing them) and i found two things that where kind of odd. the yellow and red wire is
soldered to a yellow and gray with, and there is one ground wire soldered to 4 other grounds..i found that i had one bad ground by the taillight that wasn't making a good connection, so i fixed it and put a new bulb in and same thing as soon as i revved the motor it blew the light, and my multimeter still would go whacky so i shut it off and decided to try a continuity test on the red and yellow wire where it runs out of the case for the stator. i put the red probe inside the red and yellow wire and touched the black probe to ground and the multimeter started beeping, so i think i am going to have to pull the flywheel and see if there is short on the lighting coil....any other ideas?
