    Will 83-85 200x motors fit in 85 200x frame?

I have an 85 200x rolling chassis with the motor pulled,
I'm wondering if an 83 or 84 engine will fit the frame and mounts
Or if it can only be an 85?

1983-1985 were the same besides color changes. For example a 1984 has a black seat, orange honda wings on tank, black forks and fork boots etc. The 1985 has blue seat, blue honda wings on tank, chrome forks with blue fork boots etc but almost if not everything is exact same as nd swaps right over. But 1986 they completly changed with 6 speed transmission, beefier frame etc etc.

hold on everyone...your missing 1 peice of info. 1983 motors have a machined in area for the motor mounts to fit. 84-85 do not. Think im full of it, ill take pics. But besides that they fit in and ya should use corresponding motor mounts for the front. Everything else is the same.

ya'll just been schooled lol FYI

    I own 83 and 84 motors.

Well i'll be like the 6th person to say it lol yup everything between those years are interchangeable, i think only 1 or 2 things between 1st gen(83-85) and 2nd gen(86-86) are interchangeable. You can put a 185, 200, 200s, 200M motor in these 1st gen frames. With the 200M you either have to make a dimple in the frame or take the starter out.. thats what I did and put a piece of rubber in the hole so no oil leaks out.
