Attn: 86 ATC250R owners....NEW headlight shells now available.

I got a call today that Maier has taken the advise of all the people who have requested they make an 86 headlight shell over the years, and now have one available.

I have not seen one yet, but I would like to order one to check out.

In the meantime, they are suppose to take some pictures of the new product and email them to me so I can post pics to all of you.

Price of the new shell will be the same as the 85 headlight shells.

I'd be thrilled too if I didn't have one of the last OEM '86 shells ever produced complete with lens, bulb and mounting gear chilling in a bag, never have been mounted to a bike...

    Guess where I got that?!?

That's awesome though...about time they show some love. Hope they look great!

I've got a complete NOS setup also, but would rather not trash a $500 headlight. It can go in the basment with the rest of the NOS plastic for my bike. I was going to run just a number plate, but now I can run both.

The glass and guts are the same, but the bezel is different.

I talked to them today. They hope to have some made in a week or so. Once they have them made, they will send me pics to post.

And yes, they will be offering it the traditional white black and red...but they are adding Fighting Red to the list. They are adding Fighting Red to ALL the 85-86 ATC 250R body parts they offer!! I think a lot of people will happy to hear that.

There is Great, Good and bad news in this.
Great: Maier is making a discontinued Part.

Good: NOS OEM ones will retain their value because I am sure Maier's won't look 100% like OEM. And some people only want NOS.

Bad news: Those of use who reproduce parts just lost a possible new product. LOL

I need an 86 headlight. My 86 had an 85 headlight in it. Will the 85 light fit in the 86 bezel? Or will I have to buy everything else to go with the bezel?

You need an 86 250r, 86-87 200x, or 86-87 250sx, lense and guts to work with the 86 250r shell.
