Looked at my X a little closer today. Took some pics. I noticed the front fender is a Maier.

Both fork tube valves are trashed.

The exhaust is too big for the head pipe. It's just sitting on there loose.

The carb number I can't find any info on.

The engine number I can't find a year or specific model ID for.

After looking at this list, I would say that the carb came off of a motorcycle and is not matched to this engine.

Matching the carb model to the engine model and then verifying that the jets and settings match your carb model is a great starting point for dialing in the carb:

Can't seem to get my links to work, here is my original post:

No wonder the exhaust doesn't fit. Looks to be a 85/86 250r stock silencer...

    Thanks for the input guys.

JustEnough... Thank you for the reference material. I saved that for future use. I'm gonna look up the carbs I have at home when I get off work.

Here is the other page to use to match the engine model to the carburetor. I was having trouble locating it earlier:

    Aces, man. Thank you!

Edit: Any chance you have the rest of that carb reference? I'd like to have it on hand for other models if possible.

I think it is out of a Haynes manual, because my Clymer manual has similar information on page 199, but it is condensed and harder to read.

Looks like I'm going to need a new swinger. Mine is breaking apart where the mounting bolt goes through. I'll get a pic if I can get the phone at a good angle. Also the recoil for the pull start is going to need rebuilding. It works, but it's sticking now and then.

Took it for a quick spin down my street. She's got plenty of get up and go. Still haven't messed with the carb yet so it still dumps gas. I can't wait to get this out to a spot where I can open it up.

Edit - So it's 3:30 am and just pulled the carb off cause I'm bored. Now I can't find any proper adjusting info for my motor. I did find a list of cycles that carb was used on. Everything from 70's to 500's. CR's to XR's and everything in between.

Now I was always told if the carb is dumping gas and you're not sure what the float setting is. Just set it so it rests level on its own. Anyone know if there's truth in this? I can't think of any other reason it would be dumping gas other than floats are off.

5:30 am... Carb back on. Still dumping gas. Floats still off or possibly drain screw is fubar. It looks beat up.

Also. WTF is this? Tony Montana's secret stash? I opened this 82 185s carb to compare float level with the other carb. I found all this white crumbly powder stuff. Float bowl completely full.

Fired it up after messing with the float level. It immediately went into a death rev. Uh oh!

I did it again! Scored this 86 200x wheelchair. $100. For those that are paying attention... The 85 was the same price. :trikesown

    The question is....

Do I make the quad my runner or swap the good parts to my 85 200x? Decisions!

According to the VIN decoder. It's an 84 ATC 200x.

Is this one of those fancy front end kits?
