Nice work kb. Ya that re pepper krylon is very close to honda red. What sealer did you use to protect the tank paint.

I think its a good match honestly, its not perfect but then the fenders have some age to them, if i put newer fenders on it would probably be really good.

For the tank i gave it a quick wet sand to remove a few runs i had, dang wind the day i was painting it caused that issue, then i buffed it to make sure i had it all then i cleaned it down and gave it a couple coats of Krylon Clear, i know a guy that used it to seal the paint on his boat tanks, and that was two seasons of spilled gas ago and it still looks good so i figured that will do the job. After putting the decals on i almost wish i would have cleared over them to, but since i didn't i can easily peel them off and replace if i had to, this newer vinyl seems to stay pliable a lot longer than the old stuff.

Overall i'm happy with it. Fuel spillage isn't a huge concern normally, i have a fuel caddy for all my outdoor stuff that makes it a pretty clean and spill free job but now i know it should be ok if a spill does happen.

Most of the time this Krylon stands up to fuel just fine, but it has to be fully cured, like a week and then it doesn't seem to bother it. Anyone know why that is?

It does look real nice. I love the 74 graphics and I was interested in seeing what they look like on red. Looks good!

I was going to go with some later graphics and then i thought no i really like those 74 wings on the tank, and i agree it does look really nice on a red tank!

    Thanks!

Only thing i have left to do is play with the brakes on it a bit, it might need a little tweaking yet because sometimes they don't grab right. Otherwise just enjoying it now... :-)

It was a budget build for sure, i really didn't spend that much on it. The biggest cost was replacing the motor with a good one, the rest of it was horse trading for parts, and then i had to buy a few things new to make it reliable, but otherwise a pretty good cost on this build.

Took it on its first long ride today, performed flawlessly.

Thanks! I might have another project coming up that will accompany it, an accessory so to speak.

If I can restore this piece of junk, anything is possible.

Got a lawn tractor dump trailer for $10 off craigslist. Lots of rust to contend with and the tires were shot, a couple cheap tires and some time and paint got it looking pretty decent. The inside isn't painted yet because i am waiting on a buddy of mine that does spray in bedliner to finish that off for me in the next week or so.

Also, its got its registration all done!
