    ATC 200x Fork Brace Questions

    1. Do you use the supplied plastic inserts? I cannot seem to get the brace inside the forks with this insert.

    2. Does the brace need to be just below the fork boot recess in the fork sider? Or does it sit flush with the top of the slider.

I searched for pics but could not get any close up pics.

    Thanks!!

I did see that thread and he is other build thread, looks like the brace is at the top of the slider. Cannot see enough details!

I can shed some light on this one. On the 200x you do not use the plastic inserts. the forkbrace mounts at the very top of the lower fork tubes. The I.D. of the fork brace is almost the exact same as the O.D. of the fork tube so it takes some finesse to get it mounted up. I can dig up some better photos of mine installed if it will help.

    Thanks, Matt

Thanks for the help, I figured there was no way to use the plastic inserts.

agree with Matt. You do not use the plastic inserts. However, I wanted my brace to go over the fork boots so I had the inner diameter's machined so that it fits snug around them. Unfortunately its not an exact science.
