MRSOUND First Gen 250R Tank Refinish

While reading MRSOUND's Maier group fender buy, I read he needed to get his 250R tank painted. So in the interest of doing some good for the neighborhood I reached out and asked if I could paint it and he agreed.

Two weeks ago I dropped off MRSOUND's 250R tank at my local blaster and had it stripped to bare metal.

Last weekend filled the five dings I could find on the tank and sprayed on some Epoxy base primer.

Yesterday, did some final skim coats followed by high build primer and then block sanded the tank for paint.

Got some single stage automotive grade urethane and painted it yesterday. It is hard to show white versus dark colors but the tank came out great. I will most likely wet/sand and buff to eliminate the orange peel and give it that mirror finish.

It is best to mask off the filler neck and the fuel valve so the owner does not have to deal with it, its all about the details.

WOW! Looks awesome Mike! My deepest appreciation! Like he said he reached out to me and I'm glad he did seeing it now. I have not had any work done from him before, but his reputation proceeded him so who was I to deny his offer. Definitely worth shipping it across the country. Again thanks! Can't wait to see it up close and personal.
After TF Blue27 will be employed for some custom decals for the next part of the transformation

It will be a while, lol. I'm not a seasoned builder like a lot of guys on here. I started a build thread about 2 months ago with pics of everything tore down. Well everything is still tore down. And now Mr. Clean has set the bar high for the rest of the trike. Can't have superior specimen like that on a rat looking trike. I will update it with the tank and the white fenders when I get it back. But until after TF it won't be much activity.

That tank looks killer! How did you come up with the white color mix? Did you pick one they had, or did you try to match a Honda or Maier fender white? Excellent work.
