Exactly, you can make a stroker using your stock rod. The deal is to move the location of the rod pin in the crank itself.
Stock Crank:

Stroker Crank: Notice how much higher the back of the rod is above the fly weights because of the rod being repositioned. Rod had to be turned down to clear the cases.
