Looking for some measurments for 83/84R Bushings.

Would anybody have accurate measurements for the pivot bushings for a 83/84R that they could verify against this diagram I pulled from Airfoolers.com/ or have a set they measure and compare against? BKM is willing to turn me out a set, so we just need the measurements to get this on the go. Thanks

If no one can confirm I can make them off this and make changes as needed. Is your swingarm off your bike? If so you can double check these measurements.

My swingarm is off the bike, but it had no bushings in it. The end caps that were on it are not for the bike either.(This is such a mess) Only a bearing and the sleeve that rides the bearing were in it. Let me see what else I can dig up.

Knock the old bearing out and measure the inside diameter of the pivot. Also measure the width of the pivot.

Why does every body make them with the end caps alread made on the bushing?

I will measure one of my nylon bushings tommorow and post it.Or I can send one to bkm to copy if that would be easyer.

The outside bearing is still available NOS, but if you want to replace it with something else, I would use something good like Delrin AF . . It’s only $20.00 for a 1” x 12” rod and will last FAR longer, and is MUCH harder than plastic, or nylon, or teflon, and has a coeficient of friction close to teflon, and it is easy to machine . . You could also by some Oilite bronze bushings or bar stock and machine that . . The bar stock is less than $25.00 for a foot.

Use cheap old Moly/Graphite High Temp wheel bearing grease or buy some Valvoline SynPower if you want to really good grease . . It’s only $7.00 a can and is avail at most auto stores and probably Wally World.

Man you sure can machine the Delrin, great work, you have talent.

It can be tough until you get the hang of it.
