    Picked up a 1911

I've been in the gun buying mood lately and picked up this Para Ordnance LTC Limited Edition in Coyote Brown. I can't wait to shoot it. I'm going muzzleloader hunting next weekend and I'm also bringing this because pistols fall under Missouri's Alternative Methods hunting portion with muzzleloader's.

My best friend won a Remington 1911 at a NRA banquet a few years back. It was one of the most comfortable pistols I've shot to date. I'll have me one sometime in the future. For now my latest firearm purchase is the wife's concealed carry for Christmas. Ruger LCP 380 with Crimson Trace.

Mr Sound, those are popular around here. Everyone I know carries an LCP now it seems because it will fit in your front pocket of our work pants.

My employer allows CC and open carry in the building. Half the employees have permits anyway. Did I mention I love my job? There will NEVER be a successful workplace shooting at our shop, that's for certain!

Brian, thats a fine weapon right there. 1911 is my favorite pistol. Very well designed. I've got a Para P14 double stack frame in my toolbox at work I got a few years ago that I'm going to build someday. I have very large hands so it fits perfect with a Hogue grip and I like the extra capacity. My daily is a Rock Island action I modified that was built from parts on an aluminum frame. I set it up with a high beaver tail grip safety from STI to get in as low in my fist as possible. Changed the trigger to an adjustable over travel Wilson. I kept the RI factory slide stop and safety. My experience with extended safeties and slide stop has been one of snags on clothing, breakage, and accidental disengage. My slide was unmarked so I had some fun at work with the CNC mill. Shot it with desert tan Cerakote on the frame and the slide was machined on black ox and I liked the raw steel look so much, I shot clear Cerakote over it and called it done. Hogue grips in olive drab. I use kimber mags.

I was finally able to put some lead down range and man I'm in love. It's a tack driver at 25 yards and I was hitting a 4" wide x 7" tall steel popper at 40 yards no problem. Winchester White Box ammo.

When repeatedly asked what I wanted for Xmas, I told my wife and kids I wanted ammo. They looked at me like I'm nuts (which is true) but I would be seriously stoked if I got some .308 match in my stocking

Hahaha, same here. My mother in law god bless her, is a Comifornia transplant and is terrified of guns. When she asked me what I wanted I said "ammo, and lots of it". She just shook her head.lol

I'm torn between a 223 wylde or a .308 as my next build? I've been thinking of buying PSA's cheapest complete upper and swapping out the barrel for a match grade wylde barrel. Doing a stripped lower with aftermarket trigger group and really nice optic.

Or better yet, ask for a reloading starter kit!! Roll yer own! Once you get into reloading and employ all of the tricks to custom tune your ammo to your specific rifle, no factory ammo, not even match grade will perform better.

    Nice looking weapons here fellas.

I had a nice 1911 and a Walther PPK/S 380 and they were the only 2 autos I have owned up to this point. I let both go to get a new Winchester 70 Super Grade in 338WM. I do miss having both of those pistols, but overall I have not regretted using them to acquire the Super Grade.

The 1911 was a S&W E-Series Stainless with night sights and rail. The Walther was just a nice little pistol for a small carry weapon. One of the few if not the ONLY pistol in that size range that is all steel except for the grip panels, which I addressed with a set of Altamont rosewood panels.

My remaining 8 handguns are all wheelguns...All the centerfires are S&W ranging from a little J-frame 38spl snub to an X-frame in 460 S&W Mag, and I have a couple of cheap SA 22LR's for plinking at cans with.

I'm going to the County Clerk to get my pistol permit application next week. I too would like one for hunting, but I don't think I want
a concealed carry permit. My friend just got a Concealed carry permit and it wasn't all that bad for him to get one here in NY which was surprising.

I always wanted a 357Mag to go with my lever gun to share the ammo. I also found that Coonan makes a 1911 in 357Mag....that I am interested in.

    Dan Coonan is a master

I'm doing my part to change Liberals into gun lovers.

My oldest daughter is gay. Her gf Sara and her are card-carrying Liberals.....up until recently. I convinced them that self-defense is your only defense. They asked me for a house gun so I got them a Mossy Maverick 12ga pump and tossed an 18" barrel off a Mossy 500 on it and gave it to them last Xmas.

This Xmas, they asked me to pay for both of them to get their concealed carry license and class so I'm doing just that.

Lesbians make fine kids, good gun owners, and an EXAMPLE to other Liberals

Don't hate 'em. Change their minds.

I traded a XD45 5 inch in on this Citadel 1911 . I love it . Fits my hand perfect . Polished the feed ramp and use Wilson Combat mags with Hornady +P hollow points . Click image for larger version.

I bought a 1911 at a pawn shop about 5 years ago and spent about another year tweaking on it to make it cycle right. Its smooth as can be now, took more time than parts or money to get it working right. Great, great gun though. A lot of fun to shoot. Wish I had the frame build to a carry it as a CW all the time...

Carry your guns wherever you choose. The 2nd amendment guarantees that right, as long as you excersize it responsibly.

In other words, don't walk down the highway carrying an AR-15. It doesn't help anything. It makes you look militant and ignorant.

Much worse outcomes are had from brandishing weapons than from concealing them.

12,000 gun deaths in america every year. Not enough?

Lots of makers for the 1911. To judge by one purchase is not reccommended.

Personally, don't like em. But glad if my fellow trikers have one. Or two.
