a new addiction? vintage bike

1982 430 wr husqvarna. Restored and well cared for with a ton of parts, documents etc.
I like the older stuff. I grew up around yz/kx/cr's, never saw a husky or frankly knew of them. I guess they were quite the bike in the late 70/early 80's, but expensive for the time. This one popped up and I started doing some research. It should be a fun bike for the woods.

You should make the drive to Mid Ohio Motorcycle Days and check out the vintage motocross races and the monster swap meet. I've found the best stuff there and could probably assemble an entire vintage Ducati street bike in the swap meet area. Lots of vintage MX stuff too. Husky, CZ, Bultaco, Maico, Rotax, KTM, ATK, and other vintage or hard to find stuff

There are so many awesome vintage MX bikes out there. I tend to stick with the more popular Japanese companies because I don't have the money and time to be searching for those lost parts that'll take 5 years to find and a thick wallet.

I like the full floater rm's. Early yz, and cr's. It is horrible trying to sell them locally because everyone sees them as old POS bikes (obviously unrestored survivors, not high dollar restos). You'll get $400 offers all day long on Craigslist and Facebook or even less for a $1k+ bike.

Vintage bikes are the only thing I cheat on my 3 wheelers with. Shhhhhhh

Mid 70's I was 15 . Kid up the street had a Husky . Never forget the sound of that bike .
Last year the guy down the street from me , gave me a 81 CR250r in boxes . Engine is blown . Its all there . Not sure if I want to put it back or not .

I was at Glamis in about 1982 at the bottom of Oldsmobile Hill and a guy had that exact bike with a 10 paddle he started it up and rode a wheelie up the hill and blew the doors off everyone, I have been a big Husky fan ever since.

Be careful plastikosmd, these vintage dirt bikes are addicting. My 86 cr250 is not quite as vintage as yours, but still a lot of fun to tinker with.

Hey 86 CR250'S were labelled one of the best years!!

Anyhow, yep, that is a beauty and you'll love it; Because I know you love old stuff!!

Enjoy it, I love the 2 plugs and wrench on the number plate But, those old bikes had tons of power!!

They definitely helped develop the later bikes.....

Wow what a fast bike. Bit much for some of the rocky trails near me. Thing wants to climb every tree I see.

Also got to experience a runaway for the first time. I was letting the bike idle and run itself out of fuel to drain the carb. Well after a min it went to wot. Kill switch, nada. Plug wire, nada. Fuel shutoff, already off. No co2 extinguisher close, I was able to choke it out. Phew. Think I am deaf now tho!
