Hi, 3ww people i've got one more group of pics before she goes down to garage this wk-end.
I picked up my new battery box, welder made different one (lighter duty) then my precut one.
Wiring all done execpt for a couple rubber covers, i put dialectric grease in all wire connections.
Routed neg cable to exhaust side behind brake res, i hung it to bottom seat post w/oem unused 200x front ground clamp.
V-regulator will be attached to batt box.
Im going to hold off with hanging the new tool box for now, bought this new one when they were still cheap.4-yrs ago?
I still have to find a headlight guard that'll work or bend up a used one.
I still have 3" of clearance between battery box and chain when bottomed out.
Lights seem to have power all the time (motor not running) switch will turn light on/off at any time is that normal?
The brake plumbing/cables etc i'll do in garage, very crappy lighting in this back room.

Anything i may have missed so far dont hesitate to let me know. Thanks.Click image for larger version.

Hi guys, been working on getting carb done. I bought a trx200sx carb a while ago for fitting, well come to find out it has a 18mm carb slide( stock is 20mm). Bought from wincycles egay,
So same seller i bought a 86/87 200x carb (slide is 20mm) recieved today. I installed oem jets in the 200x, and all orings china orings were hard junk.
I also needed to swap the carb bowls for clearance for starter. Carb w/silver slide is 200x thats being installed, it should be all set.(i hope)
At the same time(same seller) i bought 86/87 throttle cable (its a $14 dollar piece of junk) doesnt fit...so my search begins for oem cable.
I hope this all makes sence. So my question is would there be a difference in using a 18mm to 20mm slide? Would you notice power loss/gain?Click image for larger version.

Just checked the actual bore through the 200x carb is almost 3mm bigger
I know most of china carbs are junk but im going to give it a shot so i guess we'll see.

Nice! Love the green color with white plastics. Seems like a lot of the 200X parts looks like my 250SX.

    Thanks,
Yes i would have liked a 250sx(it would have been cheaper) not many of those in this area in good shape..(i had alot of the 200x parts already) so this project started.
If its a good runner the next time around i think it will go back to red, but the green Will last through the kids teenage yrs.

Belive it or not the hardest part to find new was the white gear selector thing, took four months of watching egay.(pic)
I couldnt find a good e-brake arm either that didnt break the bank so a yfz450 arm new for $5 fits nicely.

Nice build man, glad to see someone else is taking to build a Super X. It's really a fun trike to play on. What carb did you end up using? I have a few 22 and 24mm keihin carbs lying around that I don't need. Shoot me a pm if you need one. It's on me.

Are you using a stock exhaust?

Hey jmoozy, are u still riding yours? Great idea by the way...
The Exhaust is a supertrapp i bought a few years ago for a different bike(never put it on) the nice part about it is the stock heatshield mounted perfectly to bungs on supertrapp headpipe, so i put it on this one.
Stock 200x airbox, its just going to be a cruiser, i rarely get out of 3-4 gear on my trails.
I may have to go up one jet(114) because of exhaust, first startup should be next wk.

The 200x carb is being used--- 20mm slide is stock size and bore through carb matched oem carb on other bike i have, i used trx200sx carb bowl so it would clear the starter. I havent tried the oem slide in the china carb yet-(i may tonight)

Thank you for carb offer i may take u up on that ( i'll see how she runs first)

The supertrapp is for 86/87 200x it fits good but when motor got moved over its only about 1/2 inch from frame in one spot, i may put heat tape on back side (frame) it may be ok though

I do still ride it, but not near as much as I should. That's a sweet pipe and I bet it should run great with a good tuning. Just let me know and I'll be glad to help you out. I can bet that I have a 114 or 115 I could throw in there too. It should be good for it. Those little motor run great when uncorked. I think the stock main for the quad is like a #98. It's been a while but I think I'm running like a #122-#125. What pilot are you using?

Im trying a 35 pilot, 112main(probably end up higher) no holes in airbox i suppose it will suck more air with the exhaust but
At this point i know my wife and teen age kids will be riding it. Soooo im going to "down tune" by removing or having proper amout of discs to run near or a little above stock for now. I know that may sound bad but (for now) thats what im aiming for.
((Of coarse that may and probably will change after i ride it)) im adding a pic/page from supertrapp only because i had it

My (piston guy) i use checked for out of round, gave a light hone he said the bore is still in spec so the stock piston was used w/new oem rings so theres nothing special in there "not yet"

I bought a few jets last wk-end at the honda dealer, i asked him if they had carb jets in back he said yup what for? I Told him and he acted like he didnt really want to do business w/me. I got what i needed but what a butt hole.

Thanks again jmoozy (i'll pm you in a couple wks either way)
Husky thanks, im sooo close to it being done, i realized how much work it actually is....$ wise im at the point where do i spend
$25 on a walmart battery or $150 on lithium light weight one
Or the front brake master is like $25 for a china one "will prob work fine" or
$110 for nissin one (honda). Im so screwed, because if i look at something and it bothers me a little-a month later i'll change it. I dont have very deep pockets, im a self employed contractor so work comes and goes.

I've used the China brake stuff in the past with ok results. They are hard to bleed but do work when bled. Long term reliability can be an issue but it all depends on how much and to what limits it is pushed. If kids are riding it, missing may be worth the extra coin IMO.
