These older ski's are prone to breaking around the nose and where those braces are on the side under the hood. If they were raced or run in rough water they had to be reinforced or they would crack all over.

I know. Just thought it was overkill. LOL. Name it the 'Battle Axe' build. I had a Seadoo for a couple of years. I did get to try a jetski years ago. It was fun. Old neighbour had a Jetbike for sale and I missed out on the deal. Stuff comes up....

Just got done with my Marlin 1895gbl... Nothing too crazy, Leupold vxii 2-7x33, sitting in a dnz one piece mount, got a little 1200 grit and internal polish job, and Wolff spring treatment. Coolest part is the sling that I had custom made for it. Dan @ http://thorscustomleather.com did an outstanding job on the sling, and made the image I had in my head, into a reality on the gun... Extremely high quality leather goods! This is the second sling he has made for me, the other one is on my 357 maximum rifle

I know a couple of you will ask, 300 grain Barnes tsx's in starline brass, fed l.r. primers, over 48gr of RL#7...

No trikes. Too old, too crippled. Unless I find one I can't live without!

Haha, yes it is and i didn't even notice it. It's my buddy's pole barn. He has 6 of these old ski's stacked up in his barn and gave me this one so he has someone to ride with. You know what they say about free projects, they usually end up costing the most.

I haven't decided if I want to go OG '73 green or make it look like a PJS boat? There are decal kits available to make it look like both Ski's. The PJS boats were all the rage back in the day, but the original Plain Jane old school green is pretty cool too.

I've also thought about going with the OEM '84 Red and decals

Or possibly a throw back to the first ski I owned which was an 81 JS440

My buddy also threw in about of quart of PPG white paint and clearcoat he used on one of his ski's about a month ago, so it's kinda hard to turn down free paint as well and might make my mind up as far as color scheme.

I've seen a couple of green ones at the river all done up..... very original. I mean......how cool would it be to tow it behind a classic car/truck?

But since you got the PPG DBC and clear......the 81 would do it for me.

That 'ski is cool for sure, but from that era the Wet Bike is even cooler. Wet Bikes are the three wheeler of the water.

Those wet bikes are so freaking awesome. I've only seen one on the water and that was 20 years ago. We were on our ski's and talked to the guy for a while. He called it the arm snapper. He said it has broken no less than five arms since it was new. There is a video on YouTube of an NOS wet bike being taken out of the crate.
