The Ford FE motors are my first true love Barnett. I wish I had one for the engine bay in my Mustang. A little odd in a Fox body? Yes it would be, but I have FE experience and I know one of those would spin my back tires right into 4th gear. I like different.

Fabiodriven, first of all, glad to hear you are feeling better . Anyone like myself that has ever been seriously injured or sick for a prolonged period of time or personally knows someone that was can sympathize with what you are going thru . I think Dirtcrasher also posted that he had some serious health issues for a while and I sent him a pm a while back.

Secondly, my congrats for your conscientious recycling effort with the ingenious use of an empty Jaegermeister bottle as a radiator overflow bottle . Yes, I pay close attention to small details.

As far as liking odd things goes, I do too (because I am odd) and it seems Damon and a few others here do also (and are also).

In case you didn't know, one of the popular but very expensive conversions for a 64 thru 70 Mustang is to put a late model 4.6 Cammer engine in them, however, that doesn't interest me . I prefer to stick with the old school engines in various forms including strokers which I have built a lot of.

As far as FE engines goes, I like those alot also, unfortunately there is very little room for headers in many body styles and it costs a LOT more to build one and every part is friggen heavy . You may know this also, you can stroke a 4.130" bore FE to 4.70 cubes.

Below are some good sites to get parts and info on FE's in case you don't have this info.

Put me down as a Lima fan. I had an FE combo few seem to know about. It was a 1967 410cc. That was basically a 428 crank in a 390 block. I drove it for a year and then bought a 1970 coupe to put it in. Never happened and it ended up in an F150. I once had a line on a 1970 Cougar with a 429 Super Cobra Jet in it. Low miles, high rust. The guy wouldn't part with it. That's the closest I'll ever get to owning one.

    Thanks for the tips Barnett...

My intent with my BBC is to build an engine with stump pulling torque for fun and hauling for my old '78 Chevy K-10. I don't plan to get aggressive with the boost and am not looking to spool 7k RPM, or drag race with it. The lower RPM it comes into the meat of the power curve, the better I will like it.

Sorry I haven't kept up on here much this week

The 410 was used in full sized Mercury's in 66 and 67. I think they were rated at 330hp. The FE engines are so damn cool, but expensive to build that's for sure.

Yep. mine was in "The Merc". Fastest winter beater in all the Great White North!

The thing rode almost a smooth as my 72 El Dorado with it's 8.2 at least till about 100mph when the rusted out rear fenders would open up like wings and try to lift the rear end off the ground. I miss both, but if I could have any of my old boats back I'd pick my 67 Delta 88 with the 425 Rocket. That was the fastest, classiest chicken delivery car of its time. I remember one night I got so many tips I almost covered my fuel expenses.

They are a PITA, as are those on my '78 XS650 Special. 1979 was the first year for Yamaha cast aluminum wheels suitable for tubeless tires. Luck finds me as a "one year wonder" buyer that has a proclivity for acquiring machines that require parts manufactured from unobtanium.

    Unobtanium

Folks told me getting the correct bezel for the 65 XLH were Unobtanium but found 2....both of which were incomplete. I purchased 1....the nicest one.

And I'm sure when I'm not looking the other parts of it will show up for sale from Unobtanium as well.

I don't think anything was set in motion yet. There was also a guy on Facebook reproducing them in fiberglass, or going to I should say. You know how these go.

I just finished up my 70 build for the most part. Still need to jet it as it wont run off choke and wont throttle up at all. But its got full fiberglass fenders, 400ex rear hubs, 8x8 aluminum wheels, pit bike bars, Honda big red throttle, custom stickers from peewee, and a pull start conversion from Gordon Spanglers. One of the most fun projects Ive ever done.
