Just when I thought I was out, "86T3" pulls me back in. 85 Tecate

Well thanks to Joe I have acquired 75% of an 85 T3.

It popped up for sale on Facebook less than 5 miles from my house. It's got a rare swingarm and axle on it that Joe wanted so I picked it up for him because the price was too good to pass up.

Joe is taking the swingarm and axle and I'm buying the rest off him.

Big thank you to 86T3 for cutting me one hell of a deal.

And you’re willing to risk owning this beast without acsess to the guiding hand of Barn’s 46 something to guide you on your quest to tame the mechanical madness contained (barely) within the nuts, bolts and magic that make up the Worlds fastest and most powerful three wheeler?

    FACT, nice score
    It sucks to get old

To put as many Honda parts on it as I can.

I got to fix all of Barn's screw ups somehow.

I'm glad you're back in the game buddy! I hope she treats you well.
Looking for a Bassani silencer for a 2nd gen tecate, the style with the movable mount. 1st gen will work

I just remembered I have that front Hoosier I got from you. That'll be a cool display tire.

    Great score

I have an 85T3 in the attic in four major pieces. I might get to it next.

    T3s are addictive.

At one time, I had 4 T3s (3 runners and a parts bike):

Then I decided to thin the herd. I sold them all and gave away a bunch of parts.

    That lasted about 6 months.

I have 2 again. An 85 beater that's my current favorite ride and an 84 project:

The 84 is A LOT rougher than it looks in the pictures. That's green paint on red plastic that bubbled off the tank in the van on the way home.
It might get parted depending on what I find in the crankcase when I finally get it apart (bad WP seal).
Or it might get BUILT. Who knows.

Great simple fast cheap old toys.

If you part the 84, keep me in mind for the swingarm and axle.

Nice score, I've got some oem parts I'd part with. Shoot me a PM with your needs. Imy stash/hoard has thinned some but I've still got some goods up in the loft!

You got that right, sold both of mine cause they just felt like you were wearing two left shoes compared to the R. Snappy on power but seemed to lack everywhere else.

I totally agree, but for some reason I have a soft spot for these ugly fuggers. Great to see you posting again Ross.

Did you start an 84 or 85 Tecate awhile back? I remember someone fitting a fuel tank and using some Kawasaki or KTM shrouds. Its been a while thinking that might have been you. That's been a couple years now.

Started it, but like 95 percent of my projects, I sold it before completing it. I was trying to do a side mount radiator like a Tiger, but soon realized I'm no fabricator and it was a waste of time.
