hey I was wondering what did you use for the swingarm and how durable is it? Is that powdercaot or paint. Whatever it is it looks much glossier and smoother then OEM. Was going to anodize mine back to its gold color, too much effort. Plating bolt is already enough for me hehe. I would love some tips and pointers. My restoration project hasnt gotten off the ground for 2 years. Stipped a spare frame.. painted it . didnt like it. powdercoated it myself and baked it with a heating lamp. the smooth areas came out beautiful, but there are rough spots where the powder didnt fully cure. so maybe ill sand and paint over the powder coat. spent $$$ urethane on a paint match for the engine cases. Turned out a little darker then the original finish . Oh.. brused fork legs?.. I hear a flap wheel will give it a uniform finish.

It is paint, urethane BC/CC probably the clear and the prep work that makes it look so shiny and smooth?

    With this dinosaur:

Not sure on durability as this one is a trailer queen. However I have used the same paint on rocker covers, primary cover and other ATV/ Harley engine parts with great durability.

Powder is the preferred choice on this board from what I read, I dont do powder as I dont have an oven and I am set up to paint. If I had the room and some extra dough I would look into powder. I polished the forks, but yes they were more brushed from the factory. I sand them with 220 and up.....finishing with 1500 or 2000 and then polish them up. One could follow up with a semi gloss clear or powder to get the correct OEM finish. All I can think of for now!!!
