    new rings in the 125m

Hey, I saw this site and decided to join up. I was riding around my 125m and when I got off I noticed that there were oil stains around the head, and base gasket. Also was losing power and was starting to smoke really bad.

So I tore the engine out of it, and took apart the top end and I could see the oil leaking out around the rings and out into the head gasket. Everything looks ok though, the cylinder just needs to be honed and new rings on the piston. No grooves or any marks at all I guess it was just the engine's time. The crank feels good too there is almost no movement side to side.

I searched these forums website for about an hour but I couldn't find the torque specs for the bolts on the top end and was hoping someone could help me out. I'd really like to get this thing up and running soon, and on Monday I am going to go order a top end gasket kit and rings.

    Thanks a lot for looking

The manual says 14-16 (ft.lbs.) for the cylinder head nuts.

Thanks for the welcome, and thank you for the torque specs, i really appreciate it. And You are right those manuals are great, I am going to get one some day in the very near future, Unfortunately I am slightly impatient about waiting for stuff to ship out so I was going to go over to my local small engines shop and order aftermarket stuff and hopefully their warehouse will have it in stock and i can usually get it next day. Plus now thanks to you I have the specs to torque head bolts to so with any luck I might actually be riding around by the middle of this week with a little luck. Thanks again, this is a really nice forum I found a wiring schematic for the little guy too.
